It's easy to join - just click on the button below, fill in the application form, and pay the membership fee.

But ... if you have no prior experience with whitewater kayaking or rafting, you should consider enrolling for a beginners course with the Club instead (membership is included in the course fee) - or contact us first before joining. 

Alternately consider courses run by NZ Kayak School and Canterbury Kayaking, as they work closely with our club and run courses throughout the season.  Other qualified instructors can be found on the NZOIA website.

Our membership fee for new senior members (over 18 years) is $70. If you are a junior (under 18 years) seeking membership, please contact us first before joining, as membership is free.

All new membership applications are subject to approval by the Club.  Membership requires that you agree to abide by the Constitution (Rules of the Club), Code of Conduct, and Code of Practice.

The Club runs a range of trips that differ in difficulty from Grade 2 through to Grade 4. For safety reasons we require that members have the appropriate skill levels for the trip being run, and the Club reserves the right not to take paddlers without the required skills on all or part of a club trip.
